Bar Cart Refresh
Spring is right around the corner and as always I’m getting my annual spring cleaning and organizing in gear! I like to purge at springtime and when I could no longer find a suitable location in my home for this old Pottery Barn cart, I was tempted to just give it away or sell it. However, the refresh bug hit my spirit and I decided to give it a facelift. This post won’t be very long because really the process was super simple and only required 5 supplies.
I used gold spray paint, Recollections, scrapbook paper, and spray adhesive, both from Michaels, a razor, and scissors.
I took the bar cart outside and spray painted it gold and let it dry. I then did a second coat of gold spray paint and let it dry overnight.
Because this bar cart had slats I used the razor to cut precise pieces of the scrapbook paper and used the scissors to cut any frayed edges. I then sprayed the wood with the spray adhesive and applied the individual pieces to each slat. Then decorated it with booze. Easy peasy and it actually looks fantastic in the basement near my bar.
Sometimes a little revamp can take your item from trash to treasure in a New York minute!
