Fab Amazon Finds Series – Mama 'N Chief

My husband thinks I’m ? ? crazy with the amount of purchases that come in weekly but as you all should know by now, I’m a thrifty spender. I like to look cute but on a budget! That’s why when I saw this cute sweatshirt on Amazon, with half of my moniker, #mama, I couldn’t pass it up! You can purchase the shirt here, The patent leather hat, also found on Amazon, was a great addition because it matched these old boots I had! It can be purchased here. It’s Halla-Ween month, let’s be scary but make it fashion boo! Later Girls! (And random dude that visits my site)

With the cooler temps upon us, it's time to pull out all the stops on our fall gear. That includes, cozy knits, cashmere scarves, wool hats and of course, our beloved boots! Thanks to my shoe size changing from 11 to 12,  after foot surgery in 2018, I have been left to replace my entire shoe collection, much to the chagrin of my husband. It's been really difficult, finding shoes that I like, in size 12, so when I find cute steals, I buy in bulk! I didn’t realize that I stuck to the same shoe shape for the majority of the shoes but for me, the color variety makes up for that. The good news, as I see it anyway, is most of the shoes in this haul were priced under $100 and I have linked them all for you in this post. All you need to do is click the name of each shoe and you'll be taken to the site to purchase! Lets get into shall we? 1.  XYD Knee Boots $109 Comes in several

Ok so look, when I decided to return to school to get my Masters Degree, after 50 lev’m years (that’s a long time for my non Ebonics friends,) I knew I would have my work cut out for me. I knew that this process was not going to be easy. Yet here I am, in my third week trying to understand why someone like myself, a creative brain, is being forced to take not only Accounting but Economics, which should only be reserved for mathematical brains. For the entire weekend, I have been posted in my office, trying to finagle my assets from my elbows, while studying for this Accounting test this week. I can assure you, I am spent. For the life of me, I don’t know how people crunch numbers for a living. God bless them. I literally have been looking at numbers sideways for a good 48 hours and just when I think by Golly, I think she’s got it! She don’t got it and I’m starting at the beginning all over again. I will say

Weight. The one word I can say, truly gets on my nerves. My weight has fluctuated tremendously since having Chief. The goal that has always been constant is to get under 200lbs, which is the catalyst to getting to my true goal which is 175lbs. I’ve been close to 200lbs but I tend to let my love for food push me away from the target. I love my carbs and sweet tea and sweets and all the things that make life grand. I feel such joy when I’m able to eat the way I want to but in turn, the results of that, which is packing on the pounds, make me sad. What an ironic correlation. What I figured out, is finding a balance between the two will keep me satisfied on both fronts. A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned in my post on New Beginnings that I wanted to take control of my health and weight, so the kickstart of my effort was an old faithful. I followed JJ Smith’s 10 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse and

This week I’ll be celebrating my 9th wedding anniversary and decided I wanted to do a faux bridal shoot. My actual wedding dress is sealed and boxed so I challenged myself to see if Amazon had an affordable dress, that one could actually get married in and I found this gem! So here I am, with my little pink wig, trying to make this shoot feel weddingly (my word.)  The dress itself is nice but it really needed some pizazz! Adding my rhinestone belt from ASOS, really added that bridal flair I was looking for. Amazon has some really nice rhinestone sash belts as well. The necklace is the one I wore on my wedding day.   Thanks to Covid, I know many brides have opted to postpone their wedding or head to the courthouse. This dress is the perfect alternative to an expensive dress while still maintaining beauty and sophistication.   I am 5’8 and wear a size 14, so I ordered a 2x to be on the safe side but I could’ve went with an XL. The dress
